Cookie policy

The cookies this website sets, what each one is for, and how you can manage them.

01

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. They let the site recognise your browser on a later visit and remember the choices you have made. Similar technologies do the same job: local storage and session storage sit in your browser in much the same way, and signed tokens work alongside cookies where a browser restricts them.

When we say “cookies” on this page, we mean cookies and these related technologies.

02

How we use cookies

We use cookies for three purposes only:

  • Essential — to keep the website working, to remember your passcode entry and to protect forms and the gated areas from misuse.
  • Preferences — to remember your choices, such as whether you have already seen the opening animation or which look you prefer in the Group Management Platform.
  • Performance — to understand in general terms how the website is used, so we can improve it.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not let third parties build a profile of you from this website for marketing purposes.

03

The cookies we use

Here is every cookie and similar technology this website sets.

Group Portal sign-in (browser storage)

Essential

Only for Wolfgang Capital staff who sign in to the private Group Portal. Keeps you signed in between pages. It is never set for website visitors.

Lasts: Until you sign out

wc_intro_seen

Preference

Records that you have already seen the opening animation, so it only plays once rather than on every visit.

Lasts: 1 year

Portal preferences

Preference

Inside the Group Management Platform, remembers your chosen look, saved views and pinned items so the platform opens as you left it.

Lasts: Until you clear your browser storage

04

Third-party cookies

We do not set third-party advertising cookies. A small number of features are provided by other organisations and may set their own cookies once you use them — for example, the map on our contact page is served by a third-party mapping provider, and it may place a cookie when the map loads.

Those cookies are outside our control. Their own privacy and cookie policies explain what they collect and why.

05

Managing cookies

You can control cookies in your browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and clear them all at once. Look under settings for “privacy”, “security” or “site data”. Guidance for the common browsers is available at ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies/.

Before you block everything, please note that essential cookies are what let the site remember your passcode entry. If they are blocked, you will be asked for the passcode on every page, and some areas may not open at all. Deleting cookies will also mean the opening animation plays again on your next visit.

Blocking preference cookies will not stop the website working; it simply means the site will not remember your choices between visits.

Keeping this policy up to date

We review this policy from time to time and will update it whenever we add a new cookie or change what one does. The date at the top of this page shows the version you are reading.
